Sudan: coup leaders form new government and appoint 15 ministers

Sudanese military leader General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has formed a new government and appointed 15 ministers, three months after taking power in a coup.

The appointments come as activists stage mass protests across the country against military rule.

At least 70 were killed during demonstrations and dozens of Sudanese judges and prosecutors have condemned violations of human rights by army.

But reporters say the naming of a new government is unlikely to appease the protesters who want the military to quit the political scene entirely.
