COVID-19: Senegal authorizes third dose and vaccination of children

The Senegalese Minister of Health announced that the government has authorized the third dose of COVID-19 vaccines for adults and that children are now eligible for vaccination.

The third dose will initially be aimed at people identified as vulnerable to severe illness, the health ministry said in a Twitter.

Only 8% of the Senegalese population have been fully vaccinated, according to figures from the Ministry of Health.

The west African country has so far recorded 81,366 cases of coronavirus including 1903 deaths.
