A teenage girl was found dead in a stream in Tomefa, Ga South municipality, after leaving school to visit her grandmother in Agbozome, Ghana.
The deceased has been identified asa student of Keta Business Senior High School (SHS).
She went to Kasoa to visit her boyfriend instead of her grandmother after investigation.
According to reports, the details surrounding the cause of death remain unclear.
The body was retrieved at 10:42 p.m. and handed over to the police for further investigation.
According to reports, the mother of the deceased visited the Police Hospital and confirmed the identity of her daughter.
The boyfriend of the deceased has been arrested. Although he denies any involvement in the case, he is currently assisting with investigations, reports stated.
“The boyfriend says he was at work when he received a call about the incident. So investigations are ongoing to establish the actual cause of death,” reports added.
