According to the 2025-2026 government action plan proposed by the transitional Prime Minister, General Abdoulaye Maïga, 24,000 people are to be recruited into the defense forces, and the frequency of load shedding is to be reduced.
In all, 15,000 soldiers and 9,000 security force agents are to be recruited, and military camps will be built in six locations around the country to reinforce the State’s presence in areas of high insecurity, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
In addition, the construction of four solar and hydroelectric power stations across the country will increase the country’s electricity supply from 6 to 19 hours a day.
The 2025-2026 government action plan also calls for the fight against corruption, with systematic investigations, the freezing of illicit assets and the review of the law on associations.
