A 13-year-old disabled girl was allegedly impregnated by a pastor in Odigbo Local Government Area of the state, with the Nigerian police opening an investigation.
The pastor, was, until the incident, the head of charge of Christ Apostolic Church.
He was first dragged to the palace for allegedly impregnating the minor, who was said to be a member of the church choir.
According to reports, the pastor had earlier allegedly impregnated their daughter and aborted the pregnancy without their knowledge.
According to the family, the cleric had earlier confessed to being the one who impregnated the girl.
However, trouble reportedly started when the pastor later denied ownership of the pregnancy, for which the matter was later intervened by the zonal headquarters of the church.
All efforts by his colleagues to persuade the pastor to accept responsibility for the pregnancy proved abortive.
According to the mother of the girl, the pastor denied the pregnancy because of the girl’s deformity and reported the issue to the police.
