The Tunisian president dismisses his prime minister

Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed decided, without giving official reasons, to sack Prime Minister Kamel Madouri on the night of Thursday March 20, 2024, according to reports.

The technocrat, who was appointed last August in a major reshuffle, was immediately replaced by Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri, Minister of Equipment.

The rest of the government remained in place, according to the official announcement.

On February 6, President Saïed had dismissed his Finance Minister Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia in the middle of the night, and replaced her with magistrate Michket Slama Khaldi.
