Bestine Kazadi, the pride of the Congolese people

Bestine Kazadi, the first Congolese woman to join the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), has done her country proud.

Alongside Samuel Eto’o, Congolese Bestine Kazadi joins the comex and is set to inherit the position of 5th vice-president of CAF in charge of women’s soccer.

She enjoyed the support of an entire country, the DRC, and it was by acclamation that Congolese Bestine Kazadi was elected to the CAF Executive Committee for the next four years.

An emotional winner, she intends to do even more for the development of women’s soccer in Africa and in her own country.

I’m proud to be able to speak on behalf of the Democratic Republic of Congo, so that we can have an influence not only at the diplomatic level, because sport, and soccer in particular, is an important soft power, an important tool. It’s a lever we’ll be able to use to make ourselves known and to promote women’s soccer.

Renowned for her strong personality, Bestine Kazadi, whose father was a player and then President of the Supreme Council of AS Vita Club, in turn managed the same club between 2020 and 2023, winning a national championship title in the process.

For the DRC, regaining a place on the CAF Executive Committee was a major challenge at a time when soccer in the Leopard’s homeland is still going strong.
