The French hydrocarbon giant has sold its activities to Coly Energy Mali, an entity run by the Beninese company Bénin Petro, reports said.
Malian authorities welcome resumption of all service stations.
Bénin Petro and its Swiss-based sister company, Neutron, are taking over the more than 1,100 employees of TotalEnergies, as well as the oil company’s 80 service stations.
TotalEnergies service stations will be renamed in 2025.
Already present in Senegal, Ivory Coast and Nigeria, Bénin Petro is strengthening its presence in sub-Saharan Africa.
