Since November 2024, Morocco has dethroned Egypt, recording 15.9 million tourist arrivals compared with 15.7 million for Egypt over the first 11 months.
However, Egypt’s Prime Minister predicts that the country will welcome 18 million tourists by 2025, thanks to the opening of the Great Egyptian Museum and the development of its infrastructure.
In Morocco, the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations is also expected to boost tourist numbers.
