Former Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was hospitalized in the Bellevue Hospital Correctional Facility on Wednesday night, CNN reports, according to spokesman Juda Engelmayer.
“He tested positive for COVID and contracted double pneumonia in his lungs,” Engelmayer said, citing Craig Rothfeld, Harvey Weinstein’s authorized representative and corrections consultant.
“Mr. Weinstein was brought back to the Bellevue Hospital Correctional Facility so that he could be treated for the myriad of health issues he still suffers from on a daily basis, including diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, fluid in his heart and lungs, and various other conditions,” the statement said.
In late April, upon his return to New York after the city’s appeals court overturned his 2020 conviction for rape and sexual assault, the movie mogul had already been hospitalized in the same hospital to undergo “a myriad of tests.”
