A 24-year-old breastfeeding mother has been arrested for allegedly attempting to poison her child following her boyfriend’s infidelity in the Awutu Senya East municipality in Central Ghana.
According to Adom News, the woman and her boyfriend live in Teshie, but he has abandoned her to join another woman in Kasoa.
According to the woman, she confronted him with his alleged mistress at the old Kasoa market, triggering a heated argument.
The woman threatened to poison their child and took a substance out of her bag,attempting to give it to the child, reports said.
However, her attempt was thwarted by the swift intervention of passers-by, who quickly subdued her and handed her over to the police.
The boyfriend is also in custody, assisting with investigations.
