At least 29 students died in a Bangui high school, while 260 others were injured, in a stampede caused by the explosion of an electrical transformer in the Central African Republic.
The incident occurred while over 5,000 students from six other schools in the Central African capital were taking their baccalaureate exams at the Lycée Barhélemy Bonganda, the scene of the tragedy.
On Thursday, Central African President Faustin Archange Touadéra declared three days of national mourning in connection with the tragedy.
He expressed his sympathy to the parents of the deceased candidates from Brussels, where he is attending the Vaccine Alliance summit.
