One dead after building collapse in Cape Coast

One person has tragically died and another is being treated after a residential building collapsed on them in Ayidan Amissah Ekyir, in the metropolis of Cape Coast, in Ghana’s Central Region.

The incident occurred at dawn on Tuesday, June 25, 2025, just days after a similar collapse on Saturday, June 21, claimed two lives and left three others injured.

According to Adom News, a nearby storey building collapsed onto another structure, trapping two occupants under the rubble.

A witness said, he rushed into the damaged building and used his bare hands to clear debris in an attempt to rescue the victims, as there were no tools available at the time.

The victims a man and a woman were rushed to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital. Unfortunately, the woman was later confirmed dead.
