On Wednesday, Pope Leo XIV received UN Secretary-General António Guterres, with whom he discussed world peace and current international crises.
The Pope expressed his support for the UN’s commitment to world peace, the Vatican said in a written statement.
“Attention then turned to various ongoing processes and upcoming summits organized by the United Nations, as well as the difficulties faced by the organization in dealing with the various crises underway around the world,” the text said.
Conflicts and instability around the world were also discussed, the statement added.
