Emotions are still running high in the Gaza Strip and far beyond, following the news of the deaths of nine children from the same family, aged between six months and twelve years.
They were mowed down by an Israeli strike in their home in Khan Younès, in the south of the Palestinian enclave, on Friday May 23.
On Saturday May 24, the Civil Defense announced the death of the children of a Palestinian medical couple in an Israeli bombardment of the town of Khan Younès.
According to reports, their mother, a pediatrician, was in hospital when her home was bombed.
Her husband and only remaining child are currently between life and death.
Devastated, the uncle of the children killed, said he doesn’t understand why his brother’s house was bombed like that.
The bodies were so pulverized that the family says they were unable to identify them precisely.
“This is now the reality in Gaza: the merciless eradication of entire families, the eradication of medical workers, the deprivation of food and water for over 2 million people”, says an indignant Norwegian doctor, Mads Gilbert, a regular on humanitarian missions in Gaza.
