Qatar offers Trump a luxury plane

Donald Trump was set to receive a new plane free of charge as he confirmed this on his social network, without mentioning the generous benefactor.

Here’s the rub: this Boeing 747-8, worth an estimated $400 million, was donated by the royal family of Qatar, for the official use of the President of the United States.

This gift raises the question of conflict of interest: the US Constitution prohibits the President from accepting gifts from a foreign royal family.

Without mentioning Qatar, the American president referred on his Truth Social network to a gift, the fruit of a completely public and transparent operation for the benefit of the Department of Defense.

According to him, this free aircraft is intended to temporarily replace the two aging Air Force One jets, the name given to the presidential planes.

And this at a time when Donald Trump is complaining about the two current Boeing jets, which are 25 years old and too expensive to maintain.

The Democrats, for their part, are outraged and speak of corruption in plain sight.

In an e-mail to supporters, the Democratic National Committee accused Donald Trump of wanting to enrich himself.

Senator Chris Murphy criticized a largely illegal operation.

According to the American press, Donald Trump could even keep the plane after his term of office by transferring it to his foundation.
