Former Congolese president Joseph Kabila in submarine mode

In the Democratic Republic of Congo and on the continent, the former head of state is forging ties while seeking allies, Joseph Kabila has been meeting with current and former heads of state for several months now.

To others, he has sent letters in which he shares his views on the political situation in the DRC and the security crisis in the Great Lakes region.

Targeted by a number of serious accusations, including war crimes, crimes against humanity and massacres of civilians, Joseph Kabila is nevertheless pursuing his strategy at home by forging closer ties with opposition figures.
