A 23-year-old woman lost her life in a tragic fire in Aboduabo, in the municipality of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, in Ghana’s North-West Region.
According to reports, “the nursing mother lost her life when a fire engulfed a makeshift kiosk where she sold bottled petrol.”
According to an eyewitness, “the fire started when petrol being sold by the deceased accidentally splashed onto a nearby open flame, causing a rapid escalation of the fire.”
Efforts by residents to control the blaze proved unsuccessful.
The deceased was caught in the inferno and could not escape in time.
The father of the deceased narrated that he was on his farm when he received a distressed call about the fire.
Unfortunately, by the time he rushed to the scene, everything had been consumed by the flames, including his daughter.
The charred remains of the young woman have since been retrieved, and investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
