Suspected drug addict beats man to death

A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing a 62-year-old man by hitting him on the head with a stick in Sehwi Yawmatwa in the Bia West district of Ghana’s Western North region.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspect, under the influence of drug, attacked the deceased without provocation. The deceased had intervened when the suspect was harassing some children in the area.

In response, the suspect struck him on the head, causing fatal injuries. The victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Angry residents apprehended the suspect and subjected him to severe beatings before handing him over to the police.

Due to the extent of his injuries, he was taken to Essam Government Hospital for medical attention under police guard.

According to Adom News, the suspect had long been a menace to the community, especially when under the influence of drugs.
