Six people have lost their lives following a tanker explosion in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), according to reports.
According to a statement from the Nigerian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), an explosion occurred on Wednesday evening, March 19, 2024, in a tanker carrying fuel oil on the Abuja-Keffi highway near Nyanyan, FCT.
The explosion killed 6 people and injured many others. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals and the incident is under investigation.
At least 114 people lost their lives in Niger and Enugu states, Nigeria, in January, following the explosion of two tanker trucks.
