Nearly 10 tons of cocaine concealed in a container were seized last weekend in the port of Dunkirk, France, according to reports.
At this stage, no arrests have been made in this investigation, according to reports.
The Paris public prosecutor’s office confirmed that the National Jurisdiction for Combating Organized Crime (Junalco) “is leading the investigation into the 10 tonnes of cocaine seized in the port of Dunkirk”.
The estimated financial value of the shipment is 300 million euros before retail, based on an average wholesale price of 30,000 euros per kilo in France in 2024.
In France, the cocaine market is poised to become the leading illicit drug market by value, ahead of cannabis.
