A less impoverished population and a strong economy

According to reports, Ivory Coast, through its future National Development Plan (NDP) covering the period 2026-2030, aims to achieve a poverty rate below 20% by 2030.

Against a backdrop of strong demographic growth of 2.6% per year, the average per capita income is to be revised upwards. From 1,722 dollars between 2010 and 2020, it could reach around 4,000 dollars by 2030.

It will also be necessary to intensify economic growth to make it more inclusive, said Ivorian Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who chaired the proceedings of a government seminar devoted to the preparation of the NDP 2026-2030.

Ivory Coast’s population could rise from 26.9 million in 2020 to around 35 million in 2030.

Following the progress made under the NDP 2021-2025, the NDP 2026-2030 calls for the adoption of a new economic growth model and the integration of international experience.
