A 20-year-old woman took her own life after allegations of adultery leveled against her by her in-laws in the Oti Region, Ghana.
The young mother known for her lively personality, was reportedly subjected to intense harassment and public humiliation by her husband’s family.
The accusations were said to have stemmed from misunderstandings and jealousy within the family.
According to Adom News, “the wife was accused of infidelity due to her husband’s inability to satisfy her”.
Tensions escalated when a sister-in-law allegedly caught the deceased leaving another man’s room eand publicly berated her.
Overwhelmed by the disgrace and unable to bear the shame, the woman walked to a nearby forest and hanged herself with a nylon rope.
The incident has left the community reeling, sparking discussions about mental health and the impact of family conflicts.
