Interviewed by Rfi after the draw for the next Africa Cup of Nations, the coach of Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions remains optimistic, even if the crisis between the Ministry of Sports and the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), headed by Samuel Eto’o, is still ongoing.
“There’s a history between Cameroon and Ivory Coast, but we’re not afraid of anything,” said Marc Brys, referring to the eagerly awaited match between the two countries in the first round.
However, the coach did not miss the opportunity to send a dig at the President of Fecafoot, implying the rivalry between the two men.
“We’re not afraid of Eto’o so we’re not afraid of Ivory Coast either. What we’re interested in is our own consecration, not that of our opponents. Of course, they won the last AFCON, but we’re not afraid. We’ll be ready when the first match starts,” he added.
For Marc Brys, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon’s objective in taking part in this competition is to win the AFCON!
