The death of a casual worker at Maigida Company, a subsidiary of Dangote Cement Industry, was reported by the Ogun State Police Command in Ibese, Ewekoro Local Government Area, Ogun State, Nigeria.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this information in an exclusive statement.
“The deceased and another person were using shovels to clean up limestone materials under rolling conveyor belts at Crushers 1 & 2,” according to reports.
“The victim shovel came into contact with the roller belt, which then pulled both the shovel and him into the crusher, causing severe injuries,” reports said.
The victim was promptly extracted from the machine and rushed to a nearby hospital, where the attending doctor confirmed his death.
His body has been transferred to the mortuary at the Ilaro State Hospital for an autopsy.
Efforts are underway to locate his family.
