Man beat wife to death in Lagos

A man has been arrested by the police for beating his wife to death in the Ipaja area of the state, Lagos, Nigeria.

“The victim had suffered domestic violence from her husband on several occasions before she eventually succumbed to death,” according to reports.

According to the victim’s brother, he was at the bus stop when he saw the victim and her husband ride past him on a bike in a suspicious manner.

He said after they had driven past, he received a call from someone informing him of her sister’s death.

The man had attempted to dump his wife’s corpse with the family when he was apprehended, another member of the family said.

The suspect had been arrested and an investigation had begun into the matter, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said.
