Senegal customs seize cocaine shipments

An exceptional seizure of 235 kilos of pure cocaine was intercepted by customs officers from the Koungheul mobile brigade in Senegal.

The drug, worth an estimated 18.8 billion CFA francs, was hidden in a cache inside an L200 pickup truck.

According to reports, 210 wafers of cocaine were discovered during a roadside check. The vehicle, a single-cabin L200 pickup from a neighboring country, attracted the attention of customs officers.

Thanks to their vigilance and professionalism, the products were found concealed in a specially equipped space. The driver, a foreign national, was arrested and taken into custody.

This seizure illustrates the effectiveness of the control operations carried out by the Senegalese customs services in their fight against drug trafficking, and also underlines the crucial role of borders in this fight.

An investigation was immediately launched to determine the exact origin of the shipment, and to identify any accomplices and trafficking networks involved.
