Nigeria: armed gangs kill 30 people in three days

At least 30 people have been killed and several wounded in three days of attacks by armed gangs on farmers in Benue state, central Nigeria.

Hundreds of armed men stormed the communitie,opening fire on farmers and residents, reports said.

30 people were killed and the wounding of several others in the attacks.

The armed gangs carried out attacks on Saturday and Sunday in the Logo area of Benue state.

“The armed gangs attacked residents in their farms and homes. They shot at people. They seemed to be foreigners,” Justine Shaku, president of the region said.

However, he was unable to give the reasons for these coordinated attacks, saying that the investigation is ongoing.
