Hunter found dead in Ogun forest with bullet wounds

A hunter has been found dead with bullet wounds in a forest in the Ijebu Igbo area of Ogun State, Nigeria, according to reports.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said, ” the deceased had gone hunting with a friend, but failed to return home.”

“His delay in returning home had raised concerns with his wife who reported to the village head,” she noted.

“A search party was organised to comb the forest and the dead body was found lying in the forest with bullet wounds,” the village head said.

Suspicion was raised when it was discovered that his friend, who had gone hunting with the deceased, had fled the village with his wife and children.

“The body was removed and taken to the State Hospital in Ijebu-Ode for autopsy. This case is currently under preliminary investigation,” Odutola said.
