Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Miss Nigeria (1988) to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs, following a minor reshuffle at the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday October 23.

Prior to her appointment, Bianca Ojukwu was Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations World Tourism Organization.

She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Alfonso X el Sabio University in Spain, and has also served as Nigeria’s ambassador to Ghana and Spain.

Bianca Ojukwu is the wife of the late Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, former self-proclaimed leader of Biafra from 1967 to 1970.

She was appointed Senior Special Assistant for Diaspora Affairs by President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011.
