Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a case of possession of human parts, particularly tongues, in Lagos, Nigeria.
The operatives from the Rapid Response Squad intercepted the suspects who are 30 and 32 years, respectively were arrested during a routine stop-and-search operation on the Otedola Bridge.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects on Tuesday, said the suspects were found with the body parts while in a taxi.
“Investigations led to the arrest of another individual, in Oyingbo Market, Lagos, from whom the tongues were allegedly purchased,” he said.
Hundeyin confirmed the arrests in a statement, added that the case was under investigation.
