A woman and her daughter found murdered

A man dies during a success ritual

A native doctor and father of a 26-year-old man who died during a botched fortification have been arrested at Ugbaike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria.

According to reports, “the deceased had secured a visa to travel abroad and returned to his village to share the news with his father”.

However, his father insisted on a fortification ritual to ensure his success overseas and took him to a native doctor.

The native doctor allegedly claimed that the deceased needed to be buried alive for 1 hour and 30 minutes to be properly fortified.

Unfortunately, when he was exhumed after the stipulated time, he was found dead.

“He was rushed to the hospital and confirmed dead by the attending doctor, and his body deposited in the mortuary for preservation and autopsy,” reports stated.

The Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, said the father of the deceased and the native doctor had been arrested.

“The case is under investigation, and the suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded,” Ndukwe said.
