In the first round, the Cameroonian managed to knock out renowned Brazilian fighter Renan Ferreira in just three minutes, then made a triumphant return to MMA last Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“My opponent was superior. He managed to impose the game where I couldn’t defend takedowns, which led to ground strikes that were very hard to take. That’s all, life goes on, we’ll be back”, Renan Ferreira reacted.
For the Predator, dominating Ferreira is like revenge on the life that tragically took away his son Kobe, who died last April.
“I dedicate this victory to my son KOBE. Without him, I couldn’t have done all this! Please remember my son, remember his name!” he tearfully declared in the cage after the heavy KO inflicted on Brazilian Renan Ferreira.
In a message posted on his X account, the president of the opposition party MRC (Movement for the Rebirth of Cameroon) congratulated the new champion on his brilliant victory.
“You are a source of pride for Cameroon and Africa, and a source of inspiration for a whole generation. Let’s keep working hard to reach the top! And BRAVO Champion!” he wrote.
Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo was on hand in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the night of October 19-20 to give his Cameroonian friend a boost in the Battle of the Giants.
