The Ministry of Primary Education has decided to take steps to ensure a safe environment for young pupils, in view of the phenomenon of sexual harassment in the school environment in Togo in recent years.
A hotline, 8250, has been set up so that victims can report cases of sexual harassment in complete confidentiality.
“Once the information has been gathered, a rigorous investigation will be carried out to establish who is responsible,” says the Ministry of Education.
This initiative is part of the law passed two years ago against sexual harassment in the educational environment.
