Twelve students and 33 injured after a bus crash in north-east Egypt, according to the country’s Ministry of Health.
According to reports, “the students in the vehicle were returning to their dormitories from classes when the accident occurred.”
A group of ambulances arrived on the scene to transport the injured to hospital. The Ministry gave no further details on the condition of the injured.
The caused of the accident is not known but the driver was arrested as part of an accident investigation.
Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, Minister of Health, and Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, paid tribute to the students loved ones.
Accidents are mainly due to poor road conditions, speeding and poor enforcement of traffic regulations.
