This rapid and impressive ascent has pushed her up to second place in the overall ranking of wealthiest musicians, behind rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z, who has a fortune of $2.5 billion.

Unlike the other musicians on this list, most of Swift’s wealth comes from her album sales and live performances, rather than from outside commercial projects.
