The body of Alexandra Martine Diengo Lumbayi was recovered on October 8, 2024 from the marina on Île Saint-Quentin, Canada, where she was last seen.
The 21-year-old student had been missing for a week. The coroner was able to confirm on Tuesday afternoon that she was Alexandra Martine Diengo Lumbayi.
Due to the state of decomposition of the body, further tests were required.
An investigation is underway to determine the causes and circumstances of the young woman’s death.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were deployed to the Île Saint-Quentin marina in the morning after a witness in a kayak reported, shortly after 10 a.m., seeing what appeared to be a body floating in the Saint-Maurice River.
