Heavy toll after collision between trailer and commercial van

A road accident occurred at Tanoso in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region on Monday, August 26, 2024, leaving several passengers injured, local media reported.

Eyewitnesses reported that a heavily loaded trailer collided with a commercial van.

The van, carrying a full load of passengers, was travelling from Abuakwa to Sofoline when the accident happened.

The impact of the collision resulted in severe injuries to some passengers.

Emergency services rushed the victims to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the Kwadaso SDA Hospital for treatment, Ghanaweb reported.

The driver of the trailer is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations into the cause of the accident, the report said.
