Five people died on Tuesday, after an explosion in a tequila production factory of the José Cuervo company in the town of Tequila, in western Mexico, according to local authorities.
“So far, the death of 5 people, employees of the company, has been confirmed,” as well as two injuries, one of them serious, indicated the civil protection of the state of Jalisco, where Tequila is located, in a statement.
The explosion, whose cause is still unknown, affected four containers of the alcoholic drink, with a capacity of 219,000 liters each, two of which collapsed, Víctor Hugo Roldán, director of Civil Protection of the state.
