“I believe it is in the best interests of my party and in my best interests to step down and concentrate solely on carrying out my duties as president until the end of my term,” he said in a press release published on the social network.
Joe Biden then published a second message in which he announced he supported the candidacy of his vice-president Kamala Harris, who has not yet reacted publicly to the announcement of the withdrawal.
