A 17-year-old student was fatally stabbed while trying to break up a fight between two lovers in the Atwima Kwanwoma district of Ghana’s Ashanti region.
The victim was resting in his room on the night when he was awakened by a heated argument between a couple in the same house.
The argument, fueled by allegations of infidelity, escalated into a physical fight and in an effort to de-escalate the situation, the victim intervened.
“During the struggle, the boyfriend, in a fit of rage, drew a knife and stabbed him in the chest,” reports stated.
He was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The Police have since apprehended the suspect.
The mother of the deceased, is now appealing for a swift and thorough investigation to ensure justice for her son.
“I want the Police to expedite their investigation so that justice can be served for my late son,” she pleaded.
