The Slovenian Parliament will vote on Tuesday June 4 for the official recognition of the State of Palestine, Spain, Ireland and Norway having already taken the plunge this week, its president announced.
“The session is scheduled for Tuesday from 4 p.m.,” declared Parliament President Urska Klakocar Zupancic this Thursday, May 30, during a press conference in Ljubljana.
The government had earlier transmitted the decree for approval to Parliament, speeding up the procedure which was originally supposed to be completed by mid-June.
It should be a simple formality: a simple majority is enough to approve the text, but the center-left coalition in power holds 51 seats out of 90 in Parliament.
