Twelve people have been killed in an armed attack on a popular market in the Nigerian state of Kaduna, accoording to reports.
“Twenty people were injured in the attack,” according to Kajuru district chief, Kafra Kayino.
“The wounded had been taken to hospital and an investigation had been launched to determine the circumstances of the incident,” he added.
Nigeria has recently faced attacks by armed gangs as well as terrorist organizations such as Boko Haram, linked to Daech, in various parts of the country.
Dozens of people have been killed and more than 300 abducted in attacks in Kaduna State since January.
