India to host the next international summit on artificial intelligence

India will be happy to host the next summit on artificial intelligence, said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the close of the Summit for Action on Artificial Intelligence in Paris on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

Co-hosting the Paris summit, India will be the fourth country to host an international meeting on the subject, after the UK, South Korea and France.

Speaking at the close of the summit, Emmanuel Macron declared that artificial intelligence will enable us to live better in our societies.

We need to promote artificial intelligence that fetches decarbonized energy, added the French president, pleading for fair access to these innovations on all continents, reports said.

He also stressed the need for rules and a framework of trust. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance warned that over-regulation of artificial intelligence could kill a booming industry.

He also pointed the finger at states that would enter into partnerships in the sector with authoritarian regimes, referring to China.
