President John Dramani Mahama has appointed John Setor Dumelo as Deputy Minister of Agriculture in Ghana, according to reports.
The appointment of the MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon confirms his political commitment to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In his victory speech at the December 2024 legislative elections, the now Minister Dumelo stressed the importance of governance that puts the interests of citizens first.
“People are quick to dismiss arrogant leaders. We are committed to providing concrete solutions and working to steer Ghana in the right direction over the next four years,” he declared.
John Dumelo has gone from being an actor on the silver screen to an agent of political change in his country.
This farming enthusiast, who owns several farms, has taken his rightful place at the Ministry of Agriculture, where his mission will be to support local farmers, promote policies to increase agricultural production and ensure the country’s food security.
