A Rwandan defense force soldier was arrested for opening fire in a bar, killing five civilians in a village in the west of the country.
“The incident took place in the morning, in a bar in the Nyamasheke district,” according to reports.
“The Rwanda Defense Force deeply regrets the tragic incident in a bar in the Karambi sector where 39-year-old Sergeant killed five civilians,” the army said.
Extending its condolences to the families of the victims, the army said it would take the necessary legal measures against the suspect.
