Ghana: one dead after building collapse

One person died on the spot and another was seriously injured after part of a three-storey building under construction collapsed on them in Tuba, in the Greater Accra region, Ghana.

The unfortunate incident, involving a portion of the topmost floor of the building located at Aglow Farms.

Two out of the three carpenters who were laying wood ahead of the roofing fell victim to the disaster.

One of them who had most of the debris fall on him died instantly while the other suffered severe head injury and has been rushed to hospital for treatment.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and the Weija Divisional Police Command responded swiftly to the emergency and conveyed the body of the deceased to the morgue for preservation.

“One person believed to be the contractor has been arrested,” according to Adom News.
