A 33-year-old athlete, Odile Ahouanwanou, from Benin has not been heard from since September 10, near the town of Rouen, France.
French authorities launched an appeal for witnesses on Tuesday to find the athlete.
Police said “she had dropped her child off with the nanny in the morning and had not returned to pick him up.”
“Her last address is Neufchâtel-en-Bray. She drives around in a Volkswagen Polo”, said the police.
As a reminder, Ahouanwanou finished eighth in the heptathlon at the 2019 world championships.
