A man accidentally stabbed himself while trying to separate two frozen hamburgers with a kitchen knife at his home in Llandrindod Wells, Wales.
The body of the deceased wasn’t found for several days.
“Concerns had been raised about his welfare after he had not been seen for more than a week,” reports said.
He was eventually found fully clothed on his bed in his supported accommodation flat, where he lived alone.
The deceased, who had lost the use of one arm following a stroke, had left traces of blood in the hallway, bathroom and bedroom.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Vaughan was satisfied that his death was not suicide but more of an unexplained death.
“There was no indication that he had been assaulted,” he said.
Patricia Morgan, the region’s medical examiner, concluded that the deceased had probably died of an accident while preparing frozen food for cooking.
