Man arrested for locking up his daughter for years

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps has arrested a 67-year-old man for molesting his 25-year-old daughter in Dutse Local Government Area, Nigeria, according to reports.

“The victim was locked in a room within the house for many years,” reports said.

The room, she was living in served as her toilet, and her food was served on a bare floor like an animal.

The victim has been rescued even though she looked distressed, unkempt and depressed.

“His daughter was locked up because of her mental illness, and gallivanting around causing problems in the neighborhood,” the suspect claimed.

“The arrest follows a report of an alleged case of violence against a person filed with the Corps by a human rights activist,” according to Corps spokesman, Adamu Shehu.
